Rather than meeting the day after Labor Day, the Portland Machinist Guild will meet the second Tuesday this month -September 11th.

Harbor Freight/Alro Metals Plus
There is section of the parking lot to the right of Alro that is generally unused. The manager said we are welcome to have our event there. I will > have a poster in Harbor Freight and Alro to advertise the event so we are likely to have a bunch of folks walking up.
Note this is NOT Alro Steel. This is the little retail store next to Harbor Freight by the Lansing Mall.
Polish up your engines and we’ll see you there!
If you are not familiar with the Engine Run, for our last meeting of the season we get out our restored antique engines and give them a run. There may also be a few small engines built from scratch.

Tuesday, February 7, 2012
7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
We are meeting in the basement of Imagine This Church, the former bank on the East corner. 227 S. Bridge St. Grand Ledge MI, 48837. Parking is in the rear.
Welcome to the Portland Machinist Guild. We’ve been meeting for about thirteen years now and some of us think it’s high time we had a web site, though not all agree. In any case, please remember that we’re machinists, not programmers or poets so the site could be a bit rough. The idea at moment is simply a place to let you know who we are and what we’re up to. And, since a good number of us don’t have computers, it isn’t likely to get more sophisticated than that.
The Portland Machinist Guild is a group of folks interested in metalworking who get together once a month with like-minded members from the mid-Michigan area. We have been featured in The Home Shop Machinist (July/Aug 2003) and at the Michigan Historical Museum (May 13 – June 25, 2006. From the Mind of the Machinist: Gadgets from the Portland Machinist Guild).
You’re welcome to stop by our next meeting. Bring along a project if you can, we’d love to see what you’ve been working on.
